The Cordax®
Discovery CMM from Sheffield Measurement bas been adopted by
hundreds of manufacturers around the world over the last
decade and is the original shop floor CMM. Discovery III is
the next evolution of inspection at the point of manufacture
and builds upon its predecessor’s many successes, featuring
improved accuracy, extended thermal performance, and a
modern updated industrial design.
In place of air bearings Discovery III uses hardened machine
tool re-circulating ball bearings running at just a fraction
of their rated load. This contributes to long life and lower
maintenance costs in some of the harshest shop environments
imaginable. And with no need for air and a roll-around
stand, Discovery III provides the ultimate in flexibility
when it comes to shop floor layout.
The original Discovery created the ever increasing trend
that has moved dimensional inspection out of the quality lab
and onto the factory floor where results are needed fast.

The Cordax
Endeavor+ CMM brings you a new level of inspection
performance suitable for both the shop floor and the
inspection laboratory. You can rely on a high level of
performance never before possible in a cost-effective
machine which can withstand many manufacturing environments.
No shop floor CMM has ever been this capable, and no lab
machine has ever been this affordable to operate.
Endeavor+'s rigid yet lightweight moving structure and
optimal bearing locations provide more accurate control
without drive system distortion. Endeavor+'s design is
inherently vibration resistant, so the standard elastomeric
isolation pads may be all you need. Performance is specified
over two temperature ranges to suite both metrology
laboratory and shop floor environments. A completely modular
machine design allows for dozens of different
configurations, so Sheffield can build an Endeavor+ just the
right size for your application.
Higher reliability, lower operating cost. A linear motor
magnetic drive system with no moving parts is at the heart
of Endeavor+'s XY motion system, so there are no belts,
pulleys or other mechanical linkages to wear, break or
adjust. The result is a remarkably quiet, smooth moving
machine that is easy to maintain and typically needs no
other service than regular calibration recertification.
